Christmas

Hi everyone! We hope you had a great Christmas! We had a good one although we were very sad we couldn't go to Ohio for Christmas. Our lives have just been crazy lately with everything going on all at once and it would not have been practical for us. We moved into our new house about a week before Christmas so there was no way we wanted to travel. We are loving our home and trying to get furniture and paint started! Its a lot of work esp when you add on blinds, garage door openers, fence, and so on! So for Christmas we just stayed home all day which was very nice to not have to go out in the bitter cold! Adilynn had a wonderful day she got to stay in her Christmas PJ's all day, I just wanted her to be comfy and enjoy the day and of course she still looked adorable. She got lots of toys, clothes, a special handmade raggedy ann doll, an engraved angel Christmas ornament, and a exersaucer! She tried baby green beans but was not fond of them so I let her try some ham off my plate and she was in heaven sucking on it and got mad when I took it away!!! She is so funny. She is a girl who knows what she wants that is for sure. At the end of the day I was just so overwhelmed with thanks for her, she brings such joy to our lives. And can't imagine how it felt for God to give us His only son to die for sinners so that we could have life, and wow does he give us life abundantly!!! We are truly blessed!

God is Good...

Hi everyone this might be a long one but here it goes... some of you know what is going on and others don't so I will update you... my pregnancy with Adilynn went wonderful. At our 20 week ultrasound the doctor mentioned that Adilynn had a small head and long legs but never seemed concerned and just said it should grow. He was so nonchalant about it that I didn't think twice that something could be wrong. Then when she was born labor and delivery went awesome she came one week early which I couldn't have been happier about! She was born about three hours after we got to the hospital and I showed up at the hospital smiling and thought they would turn me away and say I wasn't in labor! But I was already 6 cm dialated! It was really an easy wonderful experience until the doctor on call came to check her out and said she had a small head something called microcephaly and wanted to run a ton of tests on her. I was a mess I just was in shock and didn't know what to do. It didn't help that the doctor had no bed side manner and explained nothing to us. He just kept saying he was calling stanford about her and we didn't even know that was the children's hospital we thought it was some research lab that wanted to do tests on her! We decided to let them do all the test which all came back perfectly fine, PRAISE GOD!! She just had a small sized head for her age and no abnormalities or anything. So I thought this meant she was fine and her head would just grow, I thought it meant she didn't have microcephaly, because again no one explained anything to us they just said the test are all fine. Then when she was about three months our pediatrican recommended us to go to the stanford childrens hospital to see a specialist. We saw a craniosentosis doctor who said her skull was fine and we needed to see a pediatric neurologist. That was right before Thanksgiving so we had to wait till we moved to Colorado. We went to see my brother graduate from boot camp and had her appointment set up for two days after we would return from that. While we were getting ready to board for our last flight back to Colorado I was holding Adilynn in the airport and Justin went to the restroom. This lady came up to me out of the blue and said, "Don't believe what the doctors tell you, my son has cerebral palsy and they said he would never do all these things, well he has proved them all wrong and started college this year. Just always remember your child is perfect. I just felt like I was suppose to tell you that." Well I was sort of annoyed because I thought this lady has nerve she must think there is something wrong with Adilynn and there isn't ! Well I looked for her after we got off the plane and couldn't find her (I think she might have been an angel or she just didn't have any baggage!). And what do you know two days later we are at the doctors and he tells us that Adilynn will never go to normal school, have learning disabilities and learn to a point and won't learn anymore. No hope, no help, no tact, NOTHING! Then just sat there in silence forever, during which I turned to Justin fighting back my tears and said, "I do not believe him!" Then proceeded to tell us we needed to sedate her to get her an MRI so we would know if our future children could have this. Needless to say I was a mess that day because this came as a shock to me. I did not research micro because I thought she didn't have it since all her test came back fine. Since that appointment I have found our about an early intervention program for babies to help them learn better and joined a support group that has helped a lot and made me realize we are not alone in this. There is even a foundation and a convention coming up this summer. I know this is long so I will wrap it up but I just wanted for inform everyone and ask for everyones prayers. But so far Adilynn is doing wonderful has met all her milestones, is trying to roll over, coos and talks all day, scoots backwards and is the biggest joy more than I could have imagined!!! She is my angel and I believe that God is the bigger than all this and has a PERFECT PLAN for her life and ours as her parents. Which we feel SO BLESSED to be!!! Love, Christina

Mammas taking over!!!

Looks like Mamma is going to have to take over the website because Daddy doesn't post enough! A TON has happen since the last post so it might take me a while to get it up to date. We moved to Colorado Springs, CO.. it was very sad to leave Monterey, CA but we are excited. Justin got a new job at URS and we bought a brand new house!!! We move in this week! Adilynn has been such a wonderful traveler and nomad as we have been all over the place the last two months! She is now cooing and smiling ALL THE TIME! She is a very happy content baby and the most wonderful blessing we could ever imagine. We started her on solids 3 days ago, just bland rice baby cereal and she likes it at first then makes yucky faces! It's adorable. She is moving around a lot now, she gets up on her knees and hands and rolls from side to side. We just got our family pictures taken yesterday and they are so adorable I will post then when we get them back.

Big dog little girl.

Diego has been very good. He treats Adilynn with respect, and knows she is way above him in the pecking order around here.
Although Diego is 15 times heavier than she is, He is more afraid...
